
Marbella: A town founded by the Romans that dates back to 1600 BC, is a spectacular town located right in the heart if the “Costa del Sol-Costa del Golf”.
This is a city founded by the Romans back in 711 with a prosperous start from the beginning. The historical town of Marbella was called “Marbi’la”.
Marbella has long been a quick but very enjoyable stop for many students and backpackers across the globe.
With miles and miles of coastline to explore, you shouldn’t have a hard time at all finding something to do. Along this coastline you will also find beach after beach full of people, fun and sun. For some, this may be more of a chance to catch up on some relaxation and let the skin see some sunshine.
After a long day of exploring the city and beaches, you may find it very peaceful to rent a bike and head down to the famous Golden Mile and grab a bite to eat at some of the best Mediterranean style restaurants that Spain has to offer.
If you like to get your drink on, beach bars are plentiful throughout this stretch of coastline, serving much-needed cocktails and beer along with mouth watering food to visitors from all walks of life. You will finds that this can also be a great gathering place of like minded travellers during the weekends and summer season.
Visiting Marbella, you’ll get a different vibe than you get from other Costa del Sol towns in that Marbella has a much more cosmopolitan feel to it which gives you the feeling of being in a city at all times. Some may find this to be a turn off, but I must admit that in the case of Marbella, it is perfectly acceptable.
Marbella offers the opportunity to experience many exciting things. You can go scuba diving, trekking, off road 4X4, horseback riding or stay at the beach and enjoy surfing, skiing, sailling, etc.

At these clubs you can dive with assurance. If you are new to scuba, the instructors are very competent and they will make you feel safe when learning to dive.
Youth hostels can be found with little or no effort at all, however, it is still recommended that you book your youth hostel beds in advance as the last thing you want to find is yourself having to walk all day looking for an available dorm bed.
In the end, do you really want to come home saying something like “I had a blast but I sure wish I did go to Spain while I had the chance”?
