My Love-Hate Relationship with Ebay
Tuesday, August 15th, 2006So I’ve had great successes buying things on Ebay. Some of my proudest purchases have been an autographed copy of “Mostly Harmless” by Douglas Adams, an ounce of Salivia Divinorum for $11, a lot of great barware and decorations, a few vintage straight razors. Shannon has gotten a few really cool things, too, like a Kero Kero Keroppi pillbox, a Keroppi carpet, and some Care Bear collectibles and decorations.
I’ve had mixed success selling things on Ebay. I’ve made a couple of bucks here and there, but Ebay doesn’t make it terrible easy to pay your Ebay fees out of your item’s Paypal payment, and my account inevitably gets shut off before I can transfer seperate funds into my paypal account to pay the Ebay fees (which should just be deducted out of your payment in the first place), they charge you extra for the auction template, premium listings and all that jazz. Then by the time I ship something, drop it off at the post office or UPS or something, it starts to feel like I shouldn’t have even sold the item in the first place.
And yet I still love selling stuff on Ebay.
